VINEYARDS
The different origins of the grounds and the various microclimates which characterize our estate allow us to cultivate all grape varieties in ideal conditions. This is the reason why a grape variety such as “Nero Buono di Cori”, very vulnerable to downy mildew, ripens perfectly in well-breezy and sunny vineyards located at a good altitude. Some white varieties such as our two Greco clones, the Giallo and the Moro, have different needs: in fact they prefer fresher grounds and climates.
All these experiences have been passed down us by our ancestors, who have always cultivated grapes in Cori, thus gathering through generations important experiences which today allow us to practice organic agriculture. The currently cultivated vines producing white grapes are “Bellone”, “Arciprete Bianco” (a clonal variety of “Bellone”), “Malvasia”, “Trebbiano” and the two varieties of “Greco”, locally named “Moro” and “Giallo”. The red grapes are “Nero Buono di Cori”, “Montepulciano”, “Cesanese” and, recently, also “Sangiovese”.
The age of vineyards ranges between few years up to 30 years. The density of stocks Is comprised between 1300 for the older vineyards to 5000 for the most recent ones. The growing is effected with runner and Guiot systems.
